AADC Award-Winning Extern Program

The Associate Alumnae of Douglass College Extern Program is one of the largest programs of its kind in the country, allowing Douglass College students to "try on a career for size." Each year, hundreds of students work for a week or two (during winter and spring semester breaks) with alumnae mentors whose careers most closely parallel their own particular interests.

The AADC Extern Program, anopportunity available to all Douglass College students, provides first-hand experience in the world of work and in the day-to-day realities involved in the fields they have chosen or are considering for possible careers and/or graduate study.

In 2005, the AADC Extern Program received The Senator Wynona M. Lipman Award from the NJ Department of Community Affairs' Division on Women for an outstanding community organization in the category of mentoring.

The AADC Extern Program is a fundamental element of a Douglass student's educational pathway, and is included in her e-portfolio.

Questions or concerns regarding the Extern Program should be forwarded to Meg Gardiner '05 at the Alumnae Center.
