The Douglass Ring, designed by a local
New Brunswick jeweler in 1923, has been recognized by alumnae throughout
the world as a mark of distinction and a symbol of the Douglass
College experience. The ring, originally available only as an onyx
stone etched with a design of the red pine set in gold, now comes
in a variety of styles. However, the traditional design is still
the popular choice. A new or replacement ring can be ordered through
the Co-op Bookstore (732/932-9017); the cost of the ring, which
was $15 in 1946, now starts at about $360. |
