Cooper Hall was the second building acquired by Dean
Douglass and was located next to the present dean's house at 23
Nichol Avenue. It was the home of Rutgers Trustee Drury Cooper,
and was enlarged several times through the years. Cooper Hall was
demolished in 1974, due to structural problems after a fire.
Today, the new Cooper Hall welcomes students on the
same site. Wearing skirts at dinner is no longer obligatory, and
the meals are served cafeteria style. |
